About Me

No Hollywood Ending is a band. We love music like we love women. We rock like boulders and worship the Gods of rock. Join the fun, thats what we are about. This is the only thing any of us wants to do with our lives so support us like a drug addiction. Tell your cheap friends to buy our CDs and all that bullshit so we don’t have to deliver pizza, clean windows, give blood, cook food, and all the other shitty jobs out there that we have and will eventually do. Come out to our shows, book us a show, and make sure you understand that stomachs need food, cars need gas, and that means that yes, we do need some sort of money. We love you all, thank you for everything, keep listening, and listen more.

No Hollywood Ending’s latest album will choke you at the throat and leave you spitting out verses that are “reliable, quick, accurate and to the point,” as guitarist and vocalist, CLC, describes their latest gutsy creation.
Looking back on their first album, It’s All a Nightmare released in 2004, No Hollywood Ending thought they knew what it took to bring their band to the main stage. “At the time when it first came out, we were really excited about it and I think that we were on to something that nobody was doing at the time,” says lead singer, Frank Osler. Now with their second full-length album, Everybody’s Talking, the band has completely transformed.
Over the years No Hollywood Ending faced some struggling encounters that challenged the band to remain as serious, focused, and united as they had hoped. With plans being made for their second album, they realized that if NHE was going to progress and grow as a band then they needed to crack down and focus on what was most important, and they did. “I hate looking back. I just like moving forward,” says CLC who is already getting amped about working on their third album with fellow band members, Osler, Ryan Lesinski (guitar), Steve Gotthelf (drums), and recent additions Kyle Mohr (synth/keys), and Joe Beninato (bass).
With It’s All a Nightmare, Osler feels that they were just a group of kids attempting to write good music, but now with Everybody’s Talking, he is really proud of what they have accomplished and says that, “The biggest difference is we learned how to write songs. We learned how to write them better and then finally, we all just stepped up and everything worked out perfectly.”
No Hollywood was able to deliver the hardcore sounds that frenzied fans expected of them, yet the band was still able to surprise them with songs that were creative and fresh.
“Sixteen Times is a big step for us. That is probably the best song we wrote,” Osler says, whose lyrics withhold a catchier tone on this track. “I know you like that,— Confident, conceited, charming when needed.—I know you like that,—A boy so admired, handsome and desired.”
“We’re good at mixing it up,” says Osler. “We know how to write the hooks and then we know how to keep it heavy for the kids that want to hear the heavy shit we started out doing.” The tracks on Everybody’s Talking range from hand-clapping chants with more up-beat guitar sounds presented in ChaChaChastity, to the more hardcore songs with lyrics that’ll slap you in the face as seen in “Obituary Cover Girl.” CLC says that, “In this kind of music we just play for kids to go crazy. They’re just there to have a good time for 40 minutes, go crazy as possible and drive home sweaty.” Playing a ridiculous live show for the fans and having fun on stage is what NHE has been about since day one, says Osler.
As for challenging themselves musically, NHE just might shock everyone with something highly unanticipated: a fifteen minute bonus track that’s a massive medley of eclectic sound effects with an experimental flair, overlapping voice-overs, and lengthy, un-used riffs “that’ll make your head spin,” as CLC describes his favorite part about the album.
“The name of the album is Everybody’s Talking. Everybody’s talking everywhere at all times. People are talking somewhere right now—in the next house, the next town, or the next country,” says CLC as he explains the album’s title which was inspired by the unexpected final track. Even producer, Mike Turner, got a big hit out of the idea. “He let us try things,” says Osler.
The bottom line is, with music and lyrics like No Hollywood Ending’s slicing through the airwaves, they’re bound to make an impact on some level. “I really don’t know what to expect,” says CLC regarding the future of the band. “Just take the band as far as we can take it.”
