About Me

Well... shit. I am a UCSC graduate... BS in Marine Biology, but if I had to do it again it would be different! ;) Currently I am focusing on my SCUBA certifications. I completed Scientific Diving in Fall '06 and am now enrolled in the Divemaster program. I'm working at a dive shop where I get paid nothing, but love what I'm doing. I also just got a job at Trader Joe's and adore the people that I'm working with! Thank goodness for fucking awesome people. Obviously I'm in Santa Cruz, but have been thinking of moving. I would really like to devote some time to volunteer somewhere for conservation efforts sometime within the next year. There is a chance that I might be trying to train as a flight attendent... just playing around with a lot of ideas right now. Anyways, a little more inside my mind... well.. I believe in my headline: "expect the worst, hope for the best... take what comes." I belive that if you prepare for the worst of things, but hope for the best of things you will always be prepared for the outcome. I think that family is super important and that you should try to live life as if this is your last second... you never know what's going to happen to the people you love. Push your limits... if you fear something try to conquer it instead of allowing it to conquer you. So, yeah... if you wanna know more... ask.

My Interests

SCUBA, Angelina Jolie, sports, hanging out with the buddies, enjoying downtime in any way possible, art (I can't make art for the life of me, but I completely love seeing other people's talent), my family, salsa dancing, eating sushi (and a saki bomb here and there never hurt anybody!), listening to music, going out dancing, LAUGHING, watching movies, reading, napping (esp. in the sun), pushing my limits, SHARKS, and lots, lots more! ;)

Music:

Oh right... like that is all gonna fit right here in this little space. I'll listen to just about anything, but some of my favorites are Damien Rice, Miles Davis, Fiona Apple, Dave Matthews, Counting Crows, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pepper, Dave Matthews, Ray LaMontagne, Bob Marley, Esthero, Jeff Buckley, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Tristan Prettyman, Brett Dennen, Joss Stone, Alicia Keys, Lauren Hill, Miles Davis, John Coaltrain, Joan Osborne, Steel Pulse, Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, this is too hard... it all depends on the mood. So, the list keeps going and going...

Movies:

Again... just about anything... I like stuff that is different though. It seems like the same ideas just keep getting recycled, which is unfortunate. So, to name a few... Stay (if you haven't seen this film... you have to... it's stunning), Donnie Darko, ANYTHING ANGELINA JOLIE, Sin City, Kill Bill 1 and 2, Love Me If You Dare, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Notebook, American Beauty, A River Runs Through It, Legends of the Fall, Dancing With Wolves, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest more and more and more...

Television:

I really don't watch TV, but if I do: Nip/Tuck, Sex and the City, The L Word, pretty much anything on Discovery and Discovery Health, Family Guy, SpongeBob SquarePants... I think that is about it.

Books:

Anything by Kurt Vonnegut, David Quammen, Elizabeth Wurtzel, Mary Roach, Richard Ellis, Anais Nin... this list is still growing. Books about art (Barbara Kruger, Salvador Dali,...), sharks, SCUBA, and such always tend to turn my head.

Heroes:

My family... esp my Mom... and also Eugene Clark.
