About Me

..
I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !
Self made man. Hyperactive boy. I love my friends. I always take the joke too far. I'm sorry if we lost touch. I'm doing my best. I'd like to help. Things are better now. I'm happy to be here. Thanks for coming by. I'm a drummer in a pretty fun music scene in Boston, and enjoy regular gigs with various artists around the city. My playing style seems to constantly evolve, hopefully for the better. I'm not nailed down to any one particular project or style, so I get exposed to a lot from behind the kit, which I really enjoy. Some of the artists I work with are listed on my top friends. I also get up and go to work Monday through Friday at Hemlock Ink, the cool little t-shirt printing company I started several years ago. In 2003, me and my band mate started making tees for our band in a basement, and with a little elbow grease and some time, made it into a real business with a really great clientèle. You can see more about Hemlock Ink on my friends list or at www.hemlockink.com. It seems like there's a never ending list of stuff I want to do, or used to do more of and want to get back into. Seems like I need more time all the time. I would like a puppy. It's time to clock out. -n-

My Interests

drums and drumming, t-shirts!,cooking, design, print making, illustration, the beach, I love swimming, tiki drinks, music, skateboards and skateboarding, snowboarding, comic books, video games. I am obsessed with surfing but never get to go, travel, design, cinema, I'm sort of a gym rat, girls girls girls... you know, all the good stuff in life.

I'd like to meet:

Evil claw-weilding robo-boss on wheels. We would do battle. ..also Gorilla Bear.

Music:

powered by frazy.com I guess my tastes are constantly changing. It's tough to describe my favorites. I grew up on punk rock like a lot of my friends, and was lucky to be in Boston which had a great scene and a lot of live shows. Later in life I started developing an interest in the Irish music I used to hear around my grand parents' when I was a kid, which lead to me playing drums in a ton of various Irish bands which I still do. Think The Pogues, or Flogging Molly for starters. I've also played with some awesome Irish alt rock outfits. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Reggae. At times it's old metal. Sometimes it's alt country bluegrass, or rockabilly, or new wave, or old jazz, or surf, or conscious hip hop. My ipod has schizophrenia and I like it that way.

Movies:

How about a little Stacy Peralta tribute: Dogtown and Z-Boys, Riding Giants, and of course Lords of Dogtown were all awesome. So were the bones brigade videos way back when. High Fidelity would make my top five, The Departed was everything a movie should be, Good Fellas, The Shawshank Redemption, Old School, The Indiana Jones movies, Stargate, Beat Street! , Buena Vista Social Club, Almost Famous, Singles is one of my favorites, Dazed and Confused, Office Space, The Big Lebowski, Amelie was gorgeous, True Romance, Lost Boys, Mall Rats, Grosse Point Blank, Europa Europa, I still like watching Point Break, Agent Utah.

Television:

The Wire, Dexter, Weeds, the Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, Entourage, Family Guy, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Lately anything involving cooking has me all wrapped up. Seriously, I'll watch that stuff for hours. It's like morphine for me. Mostly the networks are pretty damn bad. I try not to just turn on the tv and surf around. I'd rather choose some really great show that I love, or do something else entirely. It seems strange to me that tv seems to have become so bad for the most part, while at the same time producing a small handful of shows that are absolutely brilliant. Rangy, huh?

Books:

Catch a Fire, The Life of Bob Marley, Cash by Johnny Cash, American Hardcore, Please Kill Me, Prey, Cat's Cradle, Three Can Keep a Secret If Two Are Dead, No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs - John Lydon's Autobiography, Siouxie and the Banshees authorised biography, Freakonomics. I guess I'm a big non-fiction guy. Maybe someone could suggest some fiction I might like. I'm open to it. Ahh, yes, I've been meaning to finish King's Dark Tower Series, which I loved as a kid. That's like, four books on my to do list right there.

Heroes:

"No more heroes anymore" -The Stranglers
