About Me
The Long Version of this bio includes a transgendered vocalist, a near fatal motorcycle accident, a house that hasn't been built, a hostile corporate take over, marriage, divorce, and an eviction notice. The short version is not so complicated: all the details are trivial as long as Javelina has another show to play. We are a Eugene, Oregon-based group that began violating local noise ordinances in 2004. We've survived many changes in our line-up since then, when Guy, Wilson, and Micaela began playing together in Guy's garage. The addition of our kick-ass singer Uriah in 2005 solidified our sound and feel, and the brand-new addition of Colt on bass rounds out the rhythm section to make our five person line-up complete. We've had the honor of playing regularly at venues in Eugene such as John Henry's, Downtown Lounge, Samurai Duck, and The Wetlands, with some awesome bands such as Northwest Royale, Tallboy Shotgun, Mendozza, Domesticide, Vexium, The Athiarchists, Station Wag, and Mental Currency. We try to give each song its own personality, much like the members of our band themselves. We've got families, jobs, other passions, and different interests, but we still come together every Monday and Wednesday and make a bunch of rock-your-face-off noise down at the West 11th Archery practice space to keep our chops up and get ready for our next show. We're currently recording out first full-length CD with plans for release this summer, and we're hoping to begin booking tours after that. As you check out our newly recorded tracks, ask yourself, what other band makes puppies and candy sound so hard-core? Only Javelina.
