Ladi Rock is not just another name for Shanterra Avery. However it stands for something much more. She’s hard as a rock because she learned to stay strong, stand tall, and stay focused. But, when it comes to making music she speaks what’s Real, she very Original, she’s always Cocky, and she is always Keen.
Ladi Rock was born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut. This 25 year old rapper has always been very musical, and has always been in love with music. Growing up, she was constantly glued to the stereo because she couldn’t keep her ears away of music. At the age of 9 she watch her two brothers become a part of a hip hop rap group, which inspired her to become who she is today. At the age of nine, Ladi Rock wrote her first rhyme, and rapped her first song which knocked every body of their feet. She has done shows in North Carolina, Baltimore, New jersey, New York, and her home state, Connecticut. Over the years she has recorded in many studios, and has lots of experience. In February of 2008, Ladi Rock opened up for rap artist Remy Ma. In May of 2008, Ladi rock took the stage at Sultana’s in Brooklyn, NY and was crowned 1st place winner in which she beat out 25 male rap artist. She also was nominated for best female hip hop artist for the Connecticut Holla Back Video, Music Awards in July 2008.
Ladi Rock has a unique east cost flow, and voice that shows nothing but personality, and creativity. Her music is a reflection of her, her surrounding, and how she views the world through her eyes. When the time comes everyone will know the name Ladi Rock, because she’s representing hip hop, and hip hop is representing her.
