About Me

Go perv my Flickr. You can bask in the glory of my life. http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikeytea/About me: I am 24, in the Navy. I spend my days dealing with the tragic comedy that only a life in the military can provide. I like reading books, writing, drinking coffee, driving around with no intended destination, computer nerding, being sarcastic, all around "know-it-alling," math, spending countless hours on wikipedia, going to concerts/shows, drinking cold ones, and whatever else 24 year olds do.

My Interests

Exile from NJ has left a void for Yeungling, Dunkin Donuts, Italian food, and Diners.

Music:

Streetlight Manifesto, Catch 22, LTJ, Dispatch, State Radio, the Specials, Brand New, Five Iron Frenzy, Alkaline Trio, Zebrahead, Strike Anywhere, Rise Against, BOTAR, Thursday, Bouncing Souls, Bad Religion, Bob Dylan, Coheed, etc.

Movies:

All of them.

Television:

Sealab 2021, The Wire, Lost, 4400, Heros.

Books:

#1 Vonnegut is my hero, followed equally by Jack Kerouac, Ken Kesey, anything else from the Beat period, John Irving, Douglas Adams, Palahniuk. I read Navy history books and random physics books on occasion also.

Heroes:

Euclid, Jack Kerouac, John Titor, Senior Chief Stephen Bass. That just about covers the gambit of math genius, vagrant alchoholic writer, internet wacko, and real life hero.

Strip clubs and foreign currency....an international conundrum.

This is one of many observations I had during my recent trip to Puerto Vallarta. Time permitting, more to follow. Unfortunately strip clubs weren't around at the time when most countries' founding fa...

The US Navy, Skills for now, skills for later.

You know, I really do wish that the Navy was this serious, professional environment. I could brag to my friends in a positive tone about how great I had it. Be the walking example of how the commerc...

A moment of painful self realization.

So last Friday I was walking downtown on 5th street (basically 5th is your one stop shop for every style bar you could ever wish to grace with your presence) So, anyways, it was early, and at the time...

San Diego on FIRE

I, like Columbus, have triumphed.

Up until now the trade routes of goods like Dunkin Donuts ground coffee were long and hard. There were many long roads and patient hands that brought the delicious coffee to my door step (or ship ste...
