"Rock + Folk + Funk + Pop = A damn good show!!!"

About Me

Camille's music hooks you from the beginning. It is the kind of music that gets stuck in your head for days (like the gum you tried to chew all night long in 5th grade). Her debut cd, "Within Me", delivers to its audience a wide array of sounds and moods - yet all the while, holds true to the unique and unforgettable style of Camille's music - edgy, hip, raw, honest and haunting. Her Follow-up EP "Stripped Down" delivers a uniquely different raw feel. In the last three years, she has had the chance to share the stage with such bands as SUGARCULT, Michelle Malone, Marcus Eaton and the Lobby, Paul Kimble (Grant Lee Buffalo) Brandi Carlile, Vicci Martinez, Holly Figueroa, The Bradbury Press and countless others.
Though modest about her achievements, in the last three years, she has been featured in Performing Songwriter Magazine, created the soundtrack for an HBO sponsored documentary "Not Straight Forward", was picked to be on a compilation cd with Michelle Malone and Amy Ray (Indigo Girls), toured both on the East and West Coasts, and has been on several radio stations throughout Washington, Oregon and California. She continues to wow audiences with her amazing vocal versatility and high energy show.
Camille's first remembers playing the recorder at age three, where she learned the recorder part for "Fool on the Hill" by the Beatles. She was hooked from that day on. Next was grade school choir - and a memory she won't forget. Camille had a duo with Nikko Daniels in the Roosevelt Elementary Choir Concert. It was a big deal. It was a bigger deal that Nikko failed to show up the night of the performance and Camille was forced to sing as a solo instead. That was the night she began receiving praises of her singing. "I remember that a parent came up to me after the concert as I was walking out of my classroom, and said 'Camelia, you have got a beautiful voice. You should think about being a singer.'" I never forgot his words.
Camille went on to study piano and saxophone for years before picking up the guitar at age 19. She never looked back after that. Guitar allowed her poetry to find a voice and soon she took the stage.
Uniquely, Camille is a self-taught singer and guitarist - who has never taken a vocal or guitar lesson. In fact, that year in choir was her only experience singing in a group until she pursued songwriting. She credits her vocal success to listening to her mother sing harmonies, and belting out her own vocals to the car radio. Both her Mom and Dad were professional musicians as well.
Camille can play with the powerful punch of a 3 or 4 piece band - or play acoustic shows. Recent bandmates include the calm and cool April Sather on Bass, sweet bad-ass Michael Cotta on the Drums, and the rippin Dave Brewer (The Bradbury Press) on Lead Guitar.
