various music written from the 1920's through today..politics, abuses of power, everday shit that we or anyone else deals with as an american who hopes and dreams of better days and growing up in alabama and how the older you get the more you realize just how much you love it. the south as a whole really but especially our hot, backwards, and full of potential for serious social battles state.
Buuutt...if you insist on knowing the names of some bands that we hold dear, we'll start with... The Clash, New Model Army, Stockyard Stoics, The Wednesdays/Pinehill Haints, Rancid, Joe Strummer, Against Me!, and a whole metric fuckton of other Punk, Rock, Blues, Country, Reggae, Ska and world music. It'd be a waste of our time and yours to list any more specific bands/artists.
Sounds Like:
strings vibrating over magnets strategically placed in a shaped piece of wood, sticks hitting fibers pulled tightly over a cylinder shaped piece of wood and metal, and wind passing through vocal chords and then projected out of ones mouth. thats what we sound like. it's music. nothing new, yet somehow timeless. it's good. it's bad. it's happy, it's mad.
you may like it, you may not. it's up to you.
sounds like...? what kind of question is that anyway?
it sounds like a bunch of people who believe in treating people with equal respect and trying to spread our interpretation of love as best we can to as many people in as many corners of the world as possible.
