About Me

We're a band of friends who have been playing together and apart for many years- in other bands like the Readymen, the Rickets, The Redundants, Piglet, Los Mex Pistols Del Norte and MDC. What we share other than common experience is a desire for social justice and a love of rebel music in all its forms. As a small way of practicing what we preach we have played many benefit gigs, for causes such as Books through Bars, Food Not Bombs, the Icarus Project, anti-police brutality, Indymedia, our home-away-from-home ABC-No-Rio (the old stalwart DIY space in Manhattan), and countless others. Some would argue that music can't change the world and maybe they're right (although Victor Jara and Bob Marley might have something to say about that if they were still with us), but if our music can't change anybody's mind or motivate them to get involved, at least we can raise money and lend support to people and organisations that do direct political and social justice work.We released our first 7 inch and first full-length album on our own label, Roots Rock Rebel Records, but have been lucky enough to have good friends around the world who have helped us get the word out: Jumpstart Records in the US and Sudden Death Records in Canada both distribute the first album, and MSM1279 Records in Germany has released it in Europe. Our second album, Catasrophe, is on local Brooklyn label Bankshot Records.
