The Jane & Shane phenomenon, which is currently sweeping Denmark, is without doubt one of the most outstanding experiences to be caught on the live music scene today. Fine musicianship is matched by an infectious sense of fun as they weave seamlessly through a range of styles. Indeed nothing seems out of bounds for this duo. Whether folk or swing, classical or beyond, all is delivered with love and respect for their audience and the music.

Jane & Shane have both settled in Denmark, attracted by the rich live music scene which has made them feel at home. The spark that ignited upon their first meeting at an Irish session in Copenhagen six years ago rapidly developed into a strong working partnership which brought together their eclectic musical backgrounds. Jane’s classical training and her performance experience in Irish dance shows and with a variety of singer/songwriters (Marti Pellow, Chuck Brodsky, James Keelaghan etc.) is as evident in their collective repertoire as Shane’s years spent working both solo and with Irish folk and rock ‘n’ roll bands throughout Europe.

The Danish entertainer, Niels Hausgaard, first experienced their show in 2003. Attracted by their energy and obvious love for what they were doing, he invited them to join him on tour. This extended to several appearances on his annual television show for a major Danish channel. Once Jane & Shane’s extraordinary chemistry was captured on camera, public reaction was immense. They now enjoy a full touring schedule that covers the entire country, experiencing sell-out nights in even the remotest of places. Jane & Shane’s appeal in a supporting capacity for Scottish band Runrig, which enjoys huge popularity in Denmark, is testament to their special ability to connect with any audience it seems, no matter what the setting.
