The rest of the intro
What's this? A new intro? Well yes it is. Things have changed since I first threw a few self-deprecating phrases into MySpace's 'About Me' word-hole. So what's different?
I'm still a relative beginner, that hasn't changed, although I'm beginning to describe myself as 'not a professional' rather than 'amateur'. I've branched out a bit. I've shot my first wedding, which was scary as hell, so much so I've got another two booked. I've started shooting gigs and bands, and burlesque shows on a semi regular basis. I've just become an event photographer for tilllate.com, which nicely combines my love of photography, with my being a complete social whore.
I still shoot in my 'home studio', which doesn't look inspiring, but I've got some decent results out of it. I've also landed myself access to proper studios, which are great for playing about with lighting.
I've upgraded my kit as well, I use Canon exclusively. My main body is a 40D, with a 350D as backup. This usually has a 17-40mm f/4 L stuck on the front of it, but I've got a nice 50mm f/1.4 when the need arises. Stuck on top of it all, usually at a funny angle, is a 580EXII, which is brighter than a thousand suns.
I've been lucky enough to work with some fantastic models, but I'm greedy and I always want more. If you're a model and have ideas you want to work with, please get in touch. I'm quite happy to work TFCD on ideas that interest me and benefit my portfolio. Other than that, I'm a 'gun for hire' at quite reasonable rates ;)
