About Me

I used to be a lot more interesting.
If I had spare time I would watch movies, even ones that I have seen over and over again.
As it stands, I read a lot (however, they are books for my classes as an English major so I don't get a lot of pure pleasure-reading time). I watch T.V. as much as I read. I am a slave to some show at least every evening but Saturday. What can I say? Quality television has been resurrected in shows like Heroes, My Name is Earl, CSI, and Lost. I write lots of essays as well, but as I mentioned before, they are for my classes. I also like to play Halo 2, Call of Duty 2, and Call of Duty 3 on my Xbox 360 (Gamertag: KingJenn).
I tutor students in the writing center at school (Lipscomb University) for minimum wage. It kind of sucks. I don't feel that I am truly helping them.
I should theoretically graduate in May and then maybe get a teaching job or maybe have to suffer my way through student teaching. Only time will tell.

My Interests

Books. I like to read. I like to write. I like to play (some) video games. I love to watch movies. I like planning stuff, even when I don't follow the plans.

I am not particularly looking to meet anyone.

Music:

Green Day. Sublime. STP. OLP. Zeppelin, Def Leppard, the Stones, Heart, Steve Miller Band, Tom Petty, etc. I listen to mostly 70's and 80's classic rock. I am an addict. I can hear the same songs every day, even multiple times in one day, and I am ok with that. I like to console myself with the fact that the songs are a hell of a lot better than most of the crud that passes for music these days.

Movies:

Harold and Maude; UHF; Run, Lola, Run; Lock,Stock and Two Smoking Barrels; Fight Club; Boondock Saints ;Dark City; Amelie; High Fidelity; Kissing Jessica Stein; Mallrats; Clerks; Clerks II; Chasing Amy; Dogma; Grosse Pointe Blank; Intolerable Cruelty; Hudsucker Proxy; Donnie Darko; Crash; Tommy Boy; Dangerous Liaisons; Nightmare Before Christmas; anything by Tim Burton(minus remakes*cough*Planet of the Apes*cough*); and others that I am too lazy to go look for in my movie collection.

Television:

Lost, CSI, My Name is Earl, The Office, Heroes, CSI: New York, Battlestar Galactica, [Adult Swim], Scrubs. These are enough to keep me busy.

Books:

Vonnegut. Hawthorne. Fowles. Quinn. Steinbeck. Sartre. Camus. Kafka. Jonathan Swift. Laurence Sterne. Mark Twain. Douglas Adams. Wheel of Time series. Harry Potter. Henry James. Neil Gaiman. C.S. Lewis. Ender's series by O.S.C. Ray Bradbury.
