About Me

DJ Rage was born on the west side of Detroit, Mich. It would be in the motor city where he would later develop a love for music at an early age and get his start on the scene. The year was 1987, the year where he would try his hand into spinning records and deejaying various parties for friends and relatives. Several years after that would come as the training ground for his expertise in mixing and cutting records. By the time he reached high school, Rage would become the "dj" in demand for even more established parties in the neighborhood and beyond. There wasn't a party that he could not take on and make everybody feel good afterwards. Throughout these parties, he quickly began to build a reputation as one of the best in the whole neighborhood. Rage brought his first set of Technic 1200's while in college and from there he was really able to get better and better. His ear for music had got stronger as well his timing in terms of mixing by this time. He moved to Lexington, Kentucky in 1993 where he would team up a DJ from Chicago by the name of Kenny "Jammin" G. They would go on to develop a friendship and dj parties together at various clubs. Rage and Ken caught the attention of Debbie Cole who at the time was in preparation of putting together the 4th Annual African American Ball of Lexington and asked us to be a part by deejaying the event. They were an instant hit throughout the night which in terms led to deejaying the event 2 more years afterwards. In the summer of 1994, Rage descended upon Atlanta, Ga and decided that this would be the place where he would really get his feet on the ground. He quicky began to learn the scene by going to various clubs and meeting other dj's. This was also the year in which Rage would find a place for hip hop on Georgia State University's college radio (WRAS 88.5). By this time he would listen to well established dj's Tommy Fixx, DJ Jaycee (Ludacris Tour DJ) and DJ Applejac (Sounds Of Mecca). It was a blessing for him to hear these DJ's on the air and get an even more understanding of the dj game. In 1997, Rage was deejaying various talent shows in and around Atlanta and later ..ed deejaying at Club Escape. Rage was in rotation with several other deejays at the club but would quickly stand out in the crowd because of his impressive mixing skills. In 1999, Rage started deejaying on Georgia State University's hip hop show entitled "The Bomb" as well as the "Hush, Hush", a show where deejays would blend beats and instrumentals in a well fashioned form. That same year he would deejay on WRFG as a co-host on "360 Degrees" with DJ Boom Bip. In 2003 and 2006, Rage deejayed the BABS Summer Jam in Atlanta (a huge event that is originally established in New Jersey). Rage continues to represent the DJ today through various mixtapes and other venues. He has also started putting his hand into music production. Over the course of his deejaying career Rage has very well acheived many accomplishments, but at the same time stays humble and grounded in what he does. Stay tuned for more in the future from Rage as he continues to give 110 percent at what he loves best....Good Music.
