About Me

I am this completely neurotic nut who loves a good book, an awesome laugh, passionate beliefs, people who stand up for what's right, tons of dark chocolate, wine, mixing fantastic cocktails and cooking for friends, curiousity, spiritual fulfillment, love with the right person, children, yoga, hitting a bike trail, drinking coffee, watching old movies, blackberry cobbler baking in my oven, a man touching the small of my back, figuring out how to program, dancing, screaming, rocking out to to terrible 80s hair bands with my shades drawn (I'll admit it!!!!), Kris giving me free music, someone massaging my scalp, my cat purring on my bed, taking showers with someone special, giving and receiving massages, the scent of warm vanilla sugar body lotion, my red dress with the spaghetti straps, the trees in downtown/midtown Sacramento and the shade they give, real katana swords, and realistic urban planning (less sprawl..), impressionist art by Degas, Edward Hopper, Andrew Wyeth, and American Studies and oh, and I will never stop being surprised at anything.....people, motives, actions.....I think this is a strength from time to time........the ability to still be awed and humbled
What do I hate? I hate the Wal-Martization of our culture........just because you can get something cheaper doesn't mean you should.......unrepetent greed, apathy...and I despise Urban sprawl, especially in the valley...No, we don't have a land shortage, but we eat further into our farm land, creating huge shopping centers with parking lots that sprawl into all directions. So much could be solved with better land management, a real public transportation system, and a dedication to living greener. Is it any surprise that we are getting bigger and bigger as a country. We drive EVERYWHERE....I love midtown/downtown Sac in that I can walk to the stores, the restaurants, the park, my friends, and leave my car behind. I also dislike the idea that we cannot influence our government, or business, or the world....this world is driven by people buying "things", and by actively choosing to support businesses that treat the world with respect, or by patronizing local businesses, local farmers, we influence how the world is around us. When we think we have no power, that is when we are most vulnerable to others controlling our destinies...
This is my friend Percy Howard's website for his music...awesome soulful rock
Robert Rich is an electronic musician and food critic....this is his home page, with links to his food writing. He makes his own wine, bitters, and alcoholic infusions. Robert has a great nose and palate for wine tasting
Robert Hess is "Drinkboy"...one of the best internet writers/guides on the art of the cocktail. Mr. Hess resides up in Seattle and is an invaluable resource. I highly recommend you check his site out
Link to Lion's Roar Mandala, for anyone down with Tibetan Buddhism in Sacramento.

Anyone who has the cojones to stand up for what they believe....especially in this post 9/11 atmosphere of "you're either against us or for us..."
