My Interests

I'm sure I have them, where did I see them last?

I'd like to meet:

Dog lovers, story lovers, people who are fans of the outdoors, the LA Kings, good books and movies. I really dig cooking for people, so people who know how to pick wine for food ('cause I don't). If you live in Silverlake and want to share rides out to the breaks, grab your board and drop me a line by all means. I'm also always down to find new climbing partners, my last one bought a house with his wife, and has been MIA ever since.

Dark haired women, light hearted guys, my Grandfathers (need to get the Delorian suped up for that one) retired hockey coaches who want to come out and give my current team some pointers. People who realize "whatever" isn't a blisteringly clever way to end an argument :p

Music:

Ben Folds, Annie Lennox, The Streets, Air, Sterolab, Jamiroqui, Karate, Stevie Wonder, The Killers, Damien Rice, Weezer, Lamb, FrouFrou and Ms. Heap, Sia, Thievery Corporation, Jean Michel Jarre, MC Solaar, Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Lilly Allen, The Brand New Heavies, The Beautiful South, Nine Inch Nails, Kate Bush, Esthero, Beth Orton, Tori Amos (when she is not being tiresome), Jem, Everything But the Girl, PJ Harvey, The Donnas, groove lounge, classic Jazz, baroque guitar.

Movies:

Go Juno! Charlie Bartlett, Dirty Pretty Things, The Shawshank Redemption, Seven, Blade Runner, Galaxy Quest, Diner, Withnail & I, Miller's Crossing, Leon the Professional, La Femme Nikita, American Beauty, Lost in Translation, Auntie Mame, Fight Club, Two for the Road, LofR, The Emperor's New Groove, anything Wes Anderson or Hayao Miyazaki directs.

Television:

The Simpsons, L&O-SVU, Family Guy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, House, The Daily Show, [adult swim] in general.

Books:

One for the Morning Glory, Alice in Wonderland/Throught the Looking Glass, Prayer for Owen Meany, The Flanders Panel, Smilla's Sense of Snow, The Art of War, The Forsyte Saga, any of Charlie Huston or Terry Pratchett's writing. Books that are passionately recommended to me.

Heroes:

People who can stay positive through force of will, and not simply lack of sense.

Are you sick and tired of all the nasty names you are labeled as simply because you are part of one of the oldest professions on the planet (not a fireman, the other one)? Want to stop the kids on you...

Turn signals

It has gotten to the point here in Los Angeles (or rather, it got there ages ago and I simply am choosing to write it down now) where I wonder if when a LA local goes into a show room, the conversatio...

Hockey

So, after 13 years off the ice, I have started to play hockey again. Sports Science, a show I had been working on at the top of the summer for FOX, sent me home with pretty much all the equipment I ne...
