.. Create Your OwnSix Silver Spiders emotional, intense sound instantly captured the ears, hearts and minds of south florida audiences when they emerged in the early nineties. inspiring an almost religious devotion in fans, the Spiders quickly became one of the areas all-time biggest bands. the constant requests to local radio for tracks such as "insane" and "stairs" kept the band heavily in rotation on independent/college fm stations like 88.5wkpx and 91.3wvum, while the bands wide appeal garnered it a diverse coterie of devotees comprised of fans, friends, family and peers. our following was a force to be reckoned with. it is for them that this tribute page came into existence. now, after many many years of obscurity, the legendary "lost demos" will once again see the light of day, finally in the digital format. i truly hope that anyone who has heard of, or who remembers this band, will be a frequent guest here at this tribute page. i plan to post a scrapbook of pics and memorabilia i am compiling, along with handwritten lyrics, so forth and so on. I will be making it all available to anyone who would like to own a little piece of south florida underground music history. see you back here soon, friends.cheers, james veda

Sounds Like: in light of todays "new" music, you have to admit, SSS was way ahead of its time and really sounded nothing like the cure. that was simply the only point of referrence back then for most south floridians...we were moody, melodic, emotionally moving, atmospheric, tribal, we liked our guitar effects, and we were dark. we foreshadowed the success of bands like radiohead, interpol, killers, the faint, and all the rest. we had an original sound. people said we sounded like the cure.
