Quite frankly, I thought it was time someone stood up and showed some respect for the real hero’s in this country. Operation Iraqi Freedom has claimed the lives of numerous brave men and women, and most of America hasn’t blinked an eye over it. You read their names in the paper every day and just consider them another statistic. Well wake up! Realize that these are young kids who lives were ahead of them, who had stories to tell, who ultimately laid there lives down for us! This country takes its freedom for granted more than anything else…and its time to realize and honor the price that’s being paid. The realization was never more real for me than this past june, when I got word that my friend Kenny Schall had been killed in action in Iraq. Kenny was a member of the U.S. Army, A-270th Armor- Fort Riley, Kansas! Losing a friend puts a different spin on your views of the war and the men and women fighting it! I support the war efforts in iraq 100%, and I know Kenny never questioned what he was fighting for. He fought for the safety of our great country as well as the citizens of Iraq! I’m tired of war protestors turning their backs on troops, and criticizing their efforts. What kind of signal does that send these kids that are fighting so you can be free? When was the last time you thanked a soldier? When was the last time you prayed for a soldier? When was the last time you honored a soldier? Memorial Day is great, but I think its pathetic that the other 364 days, these soldiers get forgotten. These soldiers are true heros, and I will no longer blow them off! Forget greedy professional athletes, actors, and musicians. They are not role models!!! Open your eyes and support these hero’s. Its about time! Wether you know Kenny, or you’ve lost a friend or family member to the war in Iraq….or know someone currently fighting….please show your support on this page! Their laying down their lives for us….its the least we can do! Don’t let their sacrifice go to waste! PLEASE LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR THESE SOLDIERS AND FOR KENNY!
