About Me

Hi I'm Corinna Jane Crabtree, I'm 18 years old and I am a Singer Songwriter. Of course I love music, and like most musicians this happened at a "young age". I was born in Minden, Germany, my mother is french and my father is english, so I was brought up to speak 3 languages. :) You see being a happy creative toddler that I was I used to bash about on the keyboard, up to the point my mother realised it was perhaps time to consider piano lessons when I was 5! Anyway since then I wrote my first little piece when I was six ... "rainy afternoon" , then I took up singing and started writing lyrics and music when I was 12, my first song then being stalker, a song about some kinda weird love mystery...oooh! Anyway at 13 I finally took up guitar and at that time being inspired by people like Sheryl Crow, Alanis Moressette, Michelle Branch, Avril and errrm Busted (at the time). Anyway so then I fiddled about on the guitar came up with my first tune Clueless and since been writing more and more. There is nothing more fun then sitting at the piano or guitar and being inspired to create a melody and some meaningful or fun lyrics. Since then I've been gigging in my area and have recorded various songs, spotted by producers, had a backing band and then they left, been a hot track of the week on a radio station for unsigned artists - PULSE RATED, recorded more songs, peformed a bit more, etc... However the peak was deffinitely last summer when I was spotted and invited on a special trip to NY where I was given the opportunity to record a 3 track demo at a top rated studio in Long Island owned by a grammy award winning producer. (Check out the Pics from my performance at a private party there). At the moment the future excites and I am trying to develop a new maturer sound, an updated me, the me who's just turned 18. I hope you enjoy the music I create.
In 2006, my song "RESISTANCE" has been added to Pulse Rated Radio's play list! This station can be found on www.PULSERATED.co.uk and on SKY DIGITAL (for those of you who are in the UK) channel 0155.

Influences: I will listen to anything with a good melody and decent enough lyrics. I mainly love listening to things with a rock edge to it, but I like to broaden my tastes. Female singer songwriters that I am influenced by are KT Tunstall, The Cardigans, Sheryl Crow, Blondie, Avril Lavigne, Kate Nash, Adele, Vanessa Carlton, Delta Goodrem, Amy Winehouse, Michelle Branch, but all the bands and artists that I listen to will influence me to try something new and like a lot of musicians the Beatles will always have an influence on me. :) .
