i read too much--i thought we should kill ourselves. she doesn't read a thing--she believed me.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

a glimpse of originality--a moment where i can climb on words to uncover, recover, discover familiarity in the foreign, purpose in the obsolete, and wonder in the tedious

Music:

music, to me, is perception's mood: it travels, gets sidetracked, traverses time, place, logic--then settles somewhere inside, makes a house, doesn't pay rent, and is gone--leaving a note behind: james brown, tom waits, libertines, kings of leon, nirvana, pixies, dan bern, social distortion, johnny cash, franz ferdinand, modest mouse, tragically hip, lowest of the low, the clash...

Movies:

barton fink, croupier, blue/white/red,raising arizona, life of brian, welcome to the doll house, spanking the monkey, heathers, pulp fiction, clockwork orange, usual suspects, touch of evil, night of the hunter, lord of the rings, et. al

Television:

lost

Books:

the painted bird,catch-22,to the gas chambers ladies and gentlemen, clockwork orange, steppenwolf, ironweed, very old bones, the trial, herzog, lolita, invitation to a beheading,slaughterhouse-5, shalimar the clown, snow, invisible monsters, mother night, cat's cradle, whores for gloria...

Heroes:

spiderman, wolverine, catwoman(from the old tv show--ertha kitt). heroes can olny be fictional. we fictionalize all well-meaning intentions and purposes--for whatever it's worth.

My Blog

slave's offal

i am a crack addict who lingers with the fingers of lost temptation--tempting me to uncover and discover my only formulaic sensation--that i am the sum of those weaker parts--exempt from olympic medal...

new orleans is sinking and i don't want to swim!

Body: In the words of Gord Downie, New Orleans is sinking. And it is a direct result of Bushs deliberate action. A stretch? Hardly. Most every act he has carried out (or failed to respond to) has...

the man in the high castle

God exists so that humans may be perceived. We exist only in relation to perception. Much like the tree falling in the woods. Sound is derived from an observeran inhabitor of the vibrations to make r...

i am a fiction

and this i think: we all try and try to participate in our own validity, our own recreation of self--but self is as tenuous as god: there is no evidence folks. eggshells on toast. broken pits of subs...

donnie darko

it seems--and seem, like all words, is  as confrontational as it is inviting--this thread of despair, of apocalypse, of dread--lying in bed to sense the world at end--is definetly teenage hubris....

grosse point blank

there is something i see in the film--the point of entry into this seemingly antithetical expression: we wish to be witness to our nonparticipation--or, rather, perhaps: we wish to participate in our ...

filling up the empty

filling up the empty speech remains invisible yet, on a thread, can be pulled, teased, or thrashed out of sense tumbled out of thought and the observer reviles his passionate plea to be seen ...
