About Me

I'm twenty-four. I was raised on arroz, frijoles, and rock'n'roll. I am probably the meanest and nicest person you will ever meet. I like to read, play music, watch movies (especially kung-fu!), eat hot dogs, and sit around in my underwear. I love baseball more than the average girl probably should. I am addicted to coffee, magazines, and makeup in the worst way. I have the best boyfriend a girl could ever have. I miss my Dad everyday. I have an 18 year old obsession with David Bowie, well I don't know that I'd call it an obsession, more like a fascination that has turned into a lifestyle of Bowie-ness. I work in a candle store and come home smelling good every day. I am a veritable encyclopedia of classic rock. I'm a student of language--I hope to grow up and be a speech therapist for children. I'm a fucking genius, no lie.
And to be honest, I probably don't give a fuck about your stupid band.

music as sustenance, literature for your brain, baseball, makeup, Disneyland, grindhouse movies, writing till my hands hurt (not typing), movies, The Los Angeles Dodgers, taco trucks, zombies, art, baking better than your grandma, scientific study of language, flowers, design, vampires, culture, shows, photography, lomography, tattoos (of which, I have six), taking aggression out on guitar strings, attempts at greatness and fame, being a hermit, hating on jamster, making fun of everything, having great skin, vegetables, being the queen of mexican-ness, cooking, storytelling.

Too much! But these are my favorite: David Bowie. The Rolling Stones. The Cure. Mirah. Chicks on Speed. Music is my life. I play guitar, bass, and cello.

A Clockwork Orange, Amelie, Amores Perros, Band of Outsiders, Basquiat, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Hairspray, Hammer Horror (in general), High Fidelity, Josie and The Pussycats, I &hearts Huckabees, In the Mood for Love, Labyrinth, Monsters Inc, Party Monster, The Royal Tenenbaums, Rubin and Ed, Rushmore, Star Wars, Suspiria, The Man Who Fell To Earth, The Wicker Man, This is Spinal Tap, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Wayne's World, Yellow Submarine, Zoolander. Too many.

Television:

Sex and The City, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Jeopardy!, The Sopranos, The L Word, Food Network. Teevee rots your brain.

Books:

I pretty much like everything except mystery, sci-fi, fantasy and cheesy romance. My favorite writer is probably Kathy Acker because she's such a mind-fuck, but gorgeous at it. Or Milan Kundera (I know how indie of me, right?) I also really enjoy reading modern classics. When I was in High School I read a bunch of books by old dead white guys and I was happy, but now that I'm older it just isn't amusing.
