About Me

I'm a mom, a marine biologist, a part-time professor, a master gardener, an old Tampa goth, and I'm a little obsessed with knitting. I'm "turtlekaren" on Ravelry - find me!

This video makes me cry.

Knitting and spinning
Now working on: a black sweater, my mom's "death shawl", and a full size banana tree. I'm currently spinning up some hand dyed wool and some camel down, and I'm making rugs on my loom. I'm actually beginning to consider that the holidays are coming up and that people other than me should be getting knitted things.

I'd like to meet:

This alpaca. With shears in hand.

Mostly old school goth/industrial, but I actually have a pretty broad range in music.

What I'm listening to these days is First Wave (channel 22), Punk (Channel 29) Chill (shoegazer, triphop, etc on channel 35 sirius) and Boombox (breakbeat on channel 39 sirius. I've not bought any cds in a while. But i have a whole stack my sister made me to listen to.
