About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorNew from the lab - Ragga stars and stripesStefan Kietzman, was born on July 25th, 1983 in West Philadelphia. He began drawing as soon as he could hold a crayon. Household walls were a favorite target for artistic creation, signaling an early inclination toward graffiti art. Kietzman’s formative creative influences came from both his grandfathers, who were working artists. From 1998 to 2002, Kietzman attended the Philadelphia High School For Creative and Performing Art (CAPA) as a visual Art major. At CAPA he got his first taste of formal art classes. Stefan began aerosol graffiti writing in 1999 with the TMR crew based in University City, developing his skills in tunnels and on walls. As a graph writer he felt limited to the alphabet design that most other graffiti artists were based upon. Stefan developed his style on characters and abstract visuals rather than letters or handstyles. As a high school student in 2002 work was shown in the 1301 gallery at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art (PAFA). He was accepted to PAFA in the fall 2002 and graduated in 2006. In May 2005 as well as 2006 he displayed and sold paintings and drawings at the PAFA Annual Student Exhibition. Kietzman had been showing his art since 2002, his last year in college he produced his first solo exhibition March 2006 in North on South bar/lounge where paintings made from the studio were shown with live paintings created on premises. In August Stefan joined with the Rebellion Customs Crew to create hand painted shoes for a collaboration with Adidas in which shoes were painted for Justin Timberlake, Gnarls Barkley, T.I., Ludacris and Nas. He has continued producing shoes and shirts with the Rebellion as well as Adidas.
