About Me

Blue Girl Rising is meant to be a small page dedicated to survivors of child abuse and sexual abuse.
I am a survivor of both.
I have no ambitions to make this page anything more than what I just stated above. Perhaps, this little page will do nothing more than provide me an outlet in which I will be able to discuss open heartedly about some of my bad experiences without judgment and without fear.
My real hope is to share some insight into the pain and tribulations one undergoes throughout their lifetime when one is subjected to violence at any age.
Through my many conversations with other survivors; Iâ€™ve learned that many of the embedded phobias I have are not privy to me but to all who have survived abuse.
Iâ€™ve also learned that one can dig these type of pains deep inside their souls, but that it remains and festers about whether one is prepared to acknowledge it or not. In short, pain can become it's own personality and it can hold your true being hostage.
Setting yourself free:
The truth is that if one perseveres; one can move mountains. Not in one single bound as we would all like, but in inches at a time.
Healing sometimes feels like a foreign, vague, distant word because abuse has the uncanny ability to leave one feeling pretty lonely and dirty for years on end. The shame associated with these traumas is at times unnerving and raw. It robs one of positive experiences, friendships, and most importantly; self love.
Healing is attainable though. Shame should not be your cross of burden.
I encourage anyone whoâ€™s been victimized to share their story.
Not with me necessarily, but with anyone you feel comfortable with.
Silence is corrosive to one's mental health. It acts as an enabler to those who have no self restraint.
Being silent so that others are made comfortable is also not an option...at least not for me. If you feel the same; then please feel free to email me.
Strength, contemplation, healing, and some renewed sense of self are what I am in search of.
