Front man Giuseppe Sbrana formed Skinflint (grunge band) in 2004. In the 2004 period the band had problems finding serious band members. However in late 2004 Allesandra joined the band as the Skinflint drummer and kebonye Nkoloso joined as the Skinflint Bassist the following year. The band was formed in Gaborone.The band started to play many live shows and finally in 2007 they are now playing bigger shows, like stadium shows. This has helped the band get recognized and given the chance to record a 12 track album. Which is showing early promising sales.The main purpose of Skinflint is to sound very original. The front man Giuseppe Sbrana once said ‘ People always ask us what do we sound like, but I cant answer that question. That’s because we don’t sound like any other band but ourselves. So listen and find out’. They all believe that originality is the key to success.It may be early to say but Skinflint, is already looking forward to their second album which is due end of 08. A record company in Botswana called Metal Records is recording them. However they are looking for a distribution deal.However Skinflint had to find another drummer for 08 as the main drummer abandoned the band to further her carrier with Architecture. The new drummer Motushi (cool) joined in January 08.Skinflint is still a young band, aged 18-22. But one thing for sure, they are trying as hard as possible to spread their name.
