MYGIRLFRIENDISMYWEAPON
Founded at the end of 2005 by members of emonoisecore-outfit EL DIABLO and hardcorepunkband MISPLACED , mygirlfriendismyweapon brings you a loud, but strangely captivating mixture of as many loud musical styles as possible. 'Packed with breaks, groove, blastbeats and screams' ( METALFAN.NL ).
In their short existance MG=MW have already played with bands as TEXTURES, RISE AND FALL, ILL NINO, EPHEL DUATH and LA FRACTION at well-known venues as VERA (Groningen) , HET BOLWERK (Sneek) , METROPOOL (Hengelo) and festivals as NOORDSCHOK, FREEZE, SHORT FAST 'N LOUD, BAREFEETFEST and POSIFEST . 'Their show is full on energy. They jump, they bounce and they run around like crazy' ( FRIESPOPNET.NL ).
Compared musically to everything from EVERY TIME I DIE, POISON THE WELL, DAS OATH and PIG DESTROYER to CURL UP AND DIE, A LIFE ONCE LOST, KYUSS and DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN , mygirlfriendismyweapon will 'leave you gasping for air. Unscrupulous, devastating and intense' ( KINDAMUZIK.NET ), because 'the fast riffs and Dillinger Escape Plan-esque beatdowns will take you by storm' ( ZWAREMETALEN.COM ).
So if loud screaming, hipshaking new school hardcore, scorching heavy metal, sharp dissonants, off-beat riffery, uptempo punkrock&roll, three parts of stonerdoom and crushing beatdowns are your thing -and everything as loud as fuck- then mygirlfriendismyweapon is your kind of band!
