Hello all my names Edit aka Nice Guy Eddy. I've been making beats for about 8 years now. I've been the producer for 2 groups, The Mista Men & More recently 12" Matter and have also been involved in the "Monty Chong's Bong Fodder" mixtapes series producing, recording and mixing tracks for that. To date i have 1 official release with 12" Matter, a 7" entitled "Sunshine Coast" on UK Legend Evil Ed's HID label which features a remix by the man himself (Go to suspectpackages.com or Fatcity.co.uk if you want a copy). The single received great press, getting 5/5 and single of the month in Dj magazine and great reviews on the likes of UKHH.com and rapnews.co.uk. During our short time together we supported acts such as Jehst, Asaviour, Evil Ed and The Lo-fidelity Allstars, as well as doing our own shows allover the south coast. Since the band split i have been working on solo projects, collaborations with different emcees and remix work including a remix for the Evil Ed & Mantis of Aspects track MILF. I'm now looking to work with as many different people as possible so if your interested hit me up, and if your interested in hearing more tracks just let us know i got tons of em. Laters
Reviews:
"Oh i do like to be beside the seaside. Oh i do like to be beside the sea. This is for when your strolling down the front with your finger up your utterly stunning transmission from the depths of the dark south - a flipped inverted look at coastal living and the ugly realities of small-town darkness and decay, both external and internal. Almost Grahame Green in it's transformation of holidayland paradise into vicious criminal hell, but way too honest and raw and documentary rather than cinematic. 12" Matter willingly admit that what they document on "Sunshine Coast" is what happens in virtually every town in Britain but whether they like it or not, there's a definite sense of place to this record that locates it firmly in their local milieu. The sea is an unheard but sure presence in the eerie silences, almost mocking the landlubbing hordes with it's enormity and emptiness. Absolutely unashamed in both accent and accuracy, the original to this one is one of the most effectively honest tunes you'll hear all year...12" Matter seem to be circling as they rhyme. Never mind anything else coming out of these islands this week in any genre - if The Specials were around today they'd be making tunes as righteous, painfully true-to-life and compellingly suggestive as 'Sunshine Coast'. Recommendations come no higher."

"South coast based crew 12" Matter emerge on the scene with their first release, ironically a 7" record on Evil Ed's Hidden Identity productions label. The single entitled 'Sunshine Coast' sees Slugga Tee alongside guest emcee Montague swapping verses about the alternative lifestyle of the seaside resort that isnt always the most friendliest of places to visit. 'Bring your bucket and spade and loose change for the arcade/ What you want?Ice cream or class a's?' is just one of the tongue in cheek lines that Slugga boasts as he flows effortlessly over the gritty beat made by producers Edit & Medici with cuts from DJ Butterfingaz. Montague comes with a more aggy, pissed off sound to his views on everyday life which doesnt fail to impress. The b-side features a remix of the track by Evil Ed himself using he's trademark jazzy samples which somehow give the tune a slightly more sadistic, angry style to the track".

"12 Inch Matter blow apart the tourist enducing image of the UKs South Coast and the grim reality of towns like Brighton. Moody Evil Ed remix on the flip. This is what makes UK Hip-Hop special. There's a truth in UK lyrics that most of our American cousins have left behind long ago, too caught up with mega-star aspirations or complaining about those that do. 12 Inch Matter tell the tale of the UK holiday resort strewn South Coast, where the reality is of the under appreciated youth and the daily struggles they face. Evil Ed takes the original beat even further down the introspective route: moody is an understatement."

"12 Matter...joined on this joint by guest Montague, exchange verses back and forth over a head nodding vibe from producers Edit & Medici, with the cuts handled by DJ Butterfingaz. The flipside finds Evil Ed remixing the track in his own unique way, heavy beats and jazz fuelled samples directly hitting the spot, welcome to the sunshine coast from 12 Matter..."

"The first track's produced by Edit and Medici and is a head nodding number with quite simple but really enjoyable production. The verses are rapped well, laying down lines revolving around the wack things about day to day life. Evil Ed's remix injects a little more atmosphere and energy into the original, adding scratches and a slightly heavier beat which culminates in a far more effective track. It's great that H.I.D productions don't seem to be hanging around in putting out 7" releases, and it's nice to hear a lesser known group getting an opportunity to be heard, which by going on this short venture, they certainly deserve...."
