My name is Simon Hawk and I started a designing company when I was 17 because I was bored with the all to reliable and monotanous style of clothing I had access too. . started acuiring vintage shirts and blanks to print my own art and designs on. I grew up in state college pennsylvania a very rural area with little no artistic scene or alternative lifestyles. The more I have explored to world of fashion and art I have been influenced by everything I contact from graphitti and hip-hop to anatomy and nature. Alot of my designs are inspired by a fast paced lifestyle of parties, cars, women, art, modeling, dancing, and the rest of the ridiculusly wonderful things life has to offer. . My company has a small mission statement that goes like this... Maxwell’s Designer Clothing Mission . The clothing line has been developed out of love for art and fashion. These shirts are for anyone male or female young or old who wants something more on their clothing than just a slogan or corporate logo. The shirts start out plain and are splattered with paint in a style inspired by the artist Jackson Pollock. The splattering creates a truly unique pattern, which is impossible to recreate, so each shirt is different. After being hit with one or more contrasting colors the shirt is then printed by hand using a process called screen printing. Each shirt has been hand selected and specially created so you will wear it knowing that no one else will ever have the same shirt as you… ... I work with silkscreens, stencils , prints and splattering. I distress alot of the clothes so they have rips and tears, adding to the already vintage aspect of the fabric. Each peice is uniquefrom the next, so 20 shirts with the same design on them will each be different. . I try to make all clothing unisex and accent the most admirable qualities in the body, aka hips shoulder chest you know whats hot. I want to offer an alternative clothing style that combines the fabrics and functionality of the past and the lifestlye reflecting art of the present for those of us in the future! .
