My name is Mark Rakes, my nickname is Strype, I got that nickname back in the 80's when, just after the movie Gremlins came out, while onstage, my singer was introducing the band, and out of the blue just said "And on lead guitar, we have Stripe!" (I had a blonde streak in my hair, like the gremlin of that name, see profile pic). The name just stuck and I started spelling it with a "y" instead of an "i".
I'm 6'0" & about 160 lbs. I've played guitar since the age of 15, I've been in several bands... Armageddon... Crystal Death... Toxic Shock... Alliance... Spellbinder... etc. I love playing live, but the recording and mixing is cool too!
I've been trying to get Jack over here to finish up the vocals on an album we started quite awhile ago, but it seems he can't get over here too often these days...so far we have 2 of the tracks done. To make ends meet, I do computer repair and consulting.
