Sunset Strip is the premier 80s rock / hair metal tribute band in Utah. They cover all the most popular songs from the 80s including songs by Van Halen, Guns and Roses, Bon Jovi, Firehouse, Poison, and the list goes on. Their set list is made up of over 75 songs, and new songs are always being added to the list.
The current linup is Matt Wilson (vocals), Mike Thiriot and Allen Stewart (guitars), Ray Opheikens (bass) and Curtis Matson (drums). Every member of the band is technically proficient at their instrument, and every member of the band sings. This allows for some great 3 and 4 part harmonies that few other local bands can duplicate.
Since Sunset Strip begain in 2005, they have performed at The Whiskey, Club Vegas, The Vortex, The Fifth, The Big Easy, and The Cell Block. They have opened for Firehouse, XYZ, and the Iron Maidens. They have also had an impressive roster of members, such as: Dave Briggs (Broke City, Hard Rockin’ Johnsons), Mike Graybill (N-U-endo), Tom Browning (Sabbath Judas Sabbath, Aerial), Doug Vernieu (Sabbath Judas Sabbath, Crazy Red, N-U-endo) and Ryan Phillips (Nighttrain, Heavy Mental).
