About Me

My new job location! Call and book a massage!!
Manda, Female nerd-
A generally intelligent person who shows interest and aptitude in multiple, usually academic-related subjects. A person with a passion for a seemingly trivial and non-sports related pursuit, misunderstood by society at large but proud of personal achievements.
There is an increasing number of people, especially females, who self-identify with the term nerd as badges of honor in their field. They may also do so as a statement of non-conformity or as a desire to be seen as eccentric. Even if they meet the standards requiring intelligence, many of them do not fit the traditional definition that includes some degree of social ineptitude or alienation.
Given the traditional gender differences, female nerds tend to be more often self-styled than pejoratively labeled. Also, because shyness, introversion, and other geek-related personality traits are tolerated more in females than males, they are far less likely to experience peer alienation.

My Interests

I have huge interest in books and writing. I love to write poetry, fantasy, and teen fiction (but I haven't been writing much this past year...).

I have a deep love for the ancient cultures and predated history (I almost went to school for archeology).

I have a wide variety of pagan and occult interests (I still deeply believe in magick but I do not consider myself a practitioner.. Not a fan of covens or rituals... I just choose to live my life by the principles.)

I have a obsession with anime and manga. I want to go to Japan one day and see it all for myself.

I'm a recovering everquest player. Now, I just hang out at a gaming shop and will play a game randomly.

Suduko and spider solitaire are crazy addictive.

Sushi is my favorite food. I love finding out about new Japanese foods.

Fall ='s garage sale season! I LOVE going to garage sales! It's one of my all time favorite things to do.

I love independence in the workplace and the joy of travel. I want to see everywhere starting with Japan, Ireland, and India.

Art is awesome! I love to make collages.

I love going to museums. Chicago has the best museum I ever went to...

I can cook, but I rarely do.

I've worked at 3 bookstores: Audiobook store, Stroudwater bookstore, and Borders. I am a huge fan of independent bookstores, but I am obsessed with AMAZON.

Oh, and I love web comics, lolcats, 4chan, and streaming media.

I'd like to meet:

FRIENDSHIP- Intelligence, wisdom, nerdyness, randomness, and sense of humor are the 5 essential elements.

Deep and passionate people. People that are overall content despite their suffering and hardships. Honesty mixed with playful fantasy. People that quest and people that teach.

My closest friends understand my kind of a good time, and respect that about me. My favorite people on this planet are the ones that can adapt to any conversation and add their own style to it.

Music:

I have a play list of sampler songs to give an idea of my music type.

Television:

I don't have time to watch TV, but I'm really into watching series on DVD.

Carnivale. Dead Like Me. Six Feet Under. Queer As Folk. Mr. Show. Family Guy. Futurama. Charmed. Dead Zone (first season). The L Word. Ali G Show. Chappelle Show. Venture Brothers. Robot Chicken. Rome. Scrubs.

Books:

Celestine Prophecy I recommend if you want to explore your spirituality.
Beside that..
I'm a total book nerd. You give it to me and I'll read it.
