About Me

On the outside I'm just your average 23 year old grad student/bartender working my way through school. Looking a little deeper will reveal an altruist that has pessimistic doubts from time to time. My heritage includes many north-western European countries, but I feel my ties most strongly to the Celtic ones. Music and books are two things that are grafted to my core, and without which I couldn't survive. Although my roots are in a conservative way of living, I'm definitely a free thinker, and believe that ignorance is one of humanities worst aspects. I've discovered that the more I learn, the more I understand how much more there is to know, and the greater my desire becomes for that information. I occasionally come off as arrogant (which is a turn-on in some circumstances, and the opposite in others), but I can play the part of humility as well. I love to travel, but I doubt I could live anywhere too far from the sea. You might see me out with friends at a club, all dressed up, then the next week find me at a Renaissance fair, decked out in Medieval garb. My home on eastern Long Island is probably my favorite place in the world. Llannsteffan Castle in southwestern Wales really was beautiful though....Type O Negative - In praise of Bacchus

My Interests

Surfing (prefer Rusty and Lost surfboards, Morey bodyboards), books (Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, John White, Brian Jaques, and Stephen R. Lawhead are a few of my favorites), music (this has it's own section, rightfully), sports, and school also. Love just chillin at the beach with friends, or going out to get drinks after work. I'm a pretty big fan of tattoos; my personal collection is currently at four. Oh, and I made this really fun quiz. Take it if you're bored.

You scored as William Wallace. With his warrior's heart, tactician's mind, and poet's soul, Wallace was a brilliant leader. He just wanted to live a simple life on his farm, but he gave it up to help his country in its time of need.

I'd like to meet:

That depends on whether you mean ANYONE anyone, or just people that're still alive. If you mean ANYONE, the list includes J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, William the Conqueror, Henry the 5th, Handel, and Albert Einstein. For now, though, I'd settle for Andrew Schwabb or Mark Salomon

Music:

Depends on my mood, but mostly metal. I do also enjoy some classical every now and then, jazz, and most other forms of rock. I know everyone seems to love listing EVERY SINGLE band they like/listen to/heard of once upon a time, but I'm not really down for that, so here's a short list. Stavesacre still takes the cake for my favorite band, but I also enjoy (older)Lacuna Coil, Avenged Sevenfold, Eluveitie, Nightwish, Opeth, Blind Guardian, Within Temptation, Leaves Eyes , Echoes of Eternity , old Project 86, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Godsmack, Tonic, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Cranberries, Soundgarden, and some older stuff, like Larry Norman, Pink Floyd, Steve Miller Band, Randy Stonehill, lots of others. Also, if you know who Doctor Teeth and the Electric Mayhem are, you're pretty much automatically cool.Trogdor

Movies:

Braveheart is still probably my favorite. The Lord of the Rings trilogy was fairly well done, but of course I have my qualms. The Italian Job, Runaway Jury, and everyone NEEDS to see Wedding Crashers, because that movie is ridiculously funnyTake the quiz:

Books:

Anything by Tolkien having to do with Middle Earth (the Hobbit, the trilogy, Silmarillion, book of lost tales 1 and 2, etc.) Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia, and his Space trilogy, Stepen R. Lawhead's Pendragon Cycle REALLY blew me away, too many others to list
