Wailing Walls Cd Release April 18 Emo's Lounge

About Me

Almost There Records is a small label in Austin Texas that focuses mainly on the local scene. After the success of a Who tribute record put out in December of 2004, we decided to take things a step further. August of 2005 will mark the 1st annual local compilation, titled Turn 1. Every year in August we will release a compilation of original music from Austin’s finest, with a release party coinciding consisting of 10-12 bands. ATR just wants to help as much as possible in getting these great bands the attention they deserve. Plus, it’s an excuse to put together shows we wanna see, and records we wanna hear. RAWK!

Kinks 1966

Very cool, quasi-biography of The Kinks in the context of 1966. Ray discusses Pete Quaife's brief departure from the band, England's World Cup victory, The Beatles' best album, Revolver, and his own ...

Royal Tennenbaums Are Strangers

I don't know if this was commissioned by Wes Anderson or made by some clove-smoking Royal Tennenbaums obsessive, but this is a pretty good video featuring Strangers, one of my favorite Kinks songs and...

Get Back In The Line - Muswell Hillbillies - Destroyer

Let us return to the Book of Davies for a holy trinity of Kinks badassery, beginning with Get Back In Line. One of Lola vs The Powerman's best songs, this is a mostly solo rendition from Christmas 19...

Thank You For The Days

Ray was one of the first musical guests to appear on Conan O'Brien after 9/11/01, performing the Kinks classic, Days. A short time later he was interviewed by The Onion's A/V Club, and when discussing...

Kinks Documentary

Cool feature on the Kinks that looks to be from the late '90s/early '00s and is probably British in origin.  The greater emphasis on Dave's contributions is refreshing, as are the interviews with...
