Sippy and Old Guzzler is a vision that was conceived by the brother and
sister team of Jim and Julie Meadows. Not content with putting together yet
another cover band, the siblings drew from their flair for theatrics and a long
held fascination for Americas 60s love generation to create a performance that
is a feast for your eyes as well as your ears. One of the major keys to the
success of Sippy and Old Guzzler is the solid and experienced sound of the
musicians:
John Schafer - Drums
Renee Caffee - Percussion
Colleen Carter - Flute
Individually these musicians have spent the better part of their lives honing
their abilities as major players in their own right in Californias Central
Valley music scene. After working with each other as well as other highly
celebrated musicians in the Valley, the ease and enthusiasm with which they play
together in Sippy and Old Guzzler allows them to push their talents further with
each performance. They are the perfect complement to Jim and Julies vocal range
that moves from the sensitive and subtle demands of songs like, White bird
from Its a Beautiful day to the hip, gyrating twisters of California
Dreaming, Hanky Panky and Venus.
The excitement and charm of Sippy and Old Guzzler stems from their ability to
recreate your favorite memories of the 60s. If the 60s were before your time
then you will be in for a treat, as you experience for the first time, Go-Go
Dancers, Hip Huggers, Mini-Skirts, and Love Beads of an authentic 60,s
performance by people who live to love it.
Meredith Wosley - Go-Go Dancer
Incredibly, not only was the sound of the 60s reawakened by Sippy and Old
Guzzler 10 years ago, the groups charisma and popularity has bridged the thirty
year divide and catapulted their act onto the stage with some of the original
bands from the Love Generation. Sippy and Old Guzzler has shared the stage with
legendary groups such as The Turtles, Paul Revere and the Raiders, The
Buckinghams, The Association, Spencer Davis Group, and in the summer of 2004,
Eric Burden and Rare Earth and in the suummer of 2005, Herman's Hermits!
Ladies and Gentleman,
Sippy and Old Guzzler!!!
