... Definate was born and raised in New Jeruz, aka New Jersey in the early 80's... Been listening to reggae music since little and had no affinity towards any other genre of music... Spent time during winters in St. Thomas VI, due to seasonal family work... This taste of Caribbean life further inspired and nurtured Definate's proclivity towards this music and lifestyle...Definate began writing lyrics in 1996, but did not begin recording until 1998. Around this time he linked up with many local Jersey rappers, the best of whom was Slick Talk, known as Trecherous at the time... In 1999, Definate met up with singer Brinko, aka "the golden voice," who was already performing keyboard and cover tunes in a roots reggae/ jazz/ blues cover band in and around Atlantic City... Also began to preform with Genesis Hi-Fi sound system, ran by selectas Mikey Star and I-Self (now DJ Comrade of Liberation Sound)...Definate recorded many songs with Brinko, Slick Talk, I-Self (then a lyricist) under the band title of Bun A Fassy and later a cd as Rebel Music (never agreed on a group name), along with various local stage shows... We decided to continue collaborations as independent artists, and continue to do so, despite the distance!After graduating with a Bachler's degree in Philosophy and a minor in Psychology, Definate moved to Tampa, FL to escape the cold weather and to check the down south links... Definate remains in contact and continues recording sessions with his compadres Slick Talk and Brinko, two talented artical youths that you don't just come across everyday! Clocks still ticking... Ribs is touching, as an UNsigned artist, Definate eeks out a living as an underpaid counselor... Determined to remain helping others and to work exclusively towards rightiousness, he knows "change gunna come!"
