Schule of Cule

About Me

Jim Cooper Schule of CuleNow there's a story.
Ok, I'm Jim , I do bass patrol for such groups as Space Jazz Afro Funk pioneers Paper Tiger , Wolverhampton based Pink Floyd experience Darkside , electro/acoustic group Remnants , the jam bands of Divine Brothers and Feeky Chuckers , and most recently singer/songwriter Aaron Yorke .I've also worked alongside producer Fantastic Mr Fox , U.S. hip hop trio, elevatedSOUL , the progressive jazz outfit Fast Idiots and mastered the Blues with the Archer-Marriott Band . Tracks from Paper Tiger
, Darkside and Divine Brothers can be heard here , courtesy of CastMP3 .I live with my fantastic partner, Rian , and her wonderful son Ethan . He's a cheeky man, already learning the deep intrinsics of the Funk at the tender age of 5. It's top fun in our little house, tucked away in a little-known part of Wolverhampton, not too far from the Pub .I've been lucky enough to acquire an nice range of bass guitars over the years. My favourite being my Epiphone non-reversed issue Thunderbird IV . Then there are two great Ibanez basses, namely Apple 1 my homemade fretless , and my 5 String , Apple 2. My workhorse bass was given to me by my brother when I first started out, it's a little battered but serves me well, the Hohner P-Bass . Finally there is my acoustic bass. I use this for the odd folk festival but mostly rehearsing, it's a beautiful bass that cost me the combined sum of a whole summer's graft! More info about my gear can be found above in the blog section.I was inspired to do a MySpace when it was introduced to me by Paper Tiger saxomaphonist, Greg . He created their MySpace which has subsequently been shut down for some reason or another, but the official website is now up and running showcasing the latest and greatest Paper Tiger offerings - a place where you can hear my handy work.Czech what I'm currently listening to here: Last.FmWell, that's about it really, I'm sure anyone interested could mail me if I've missed anything, or you could login to MSN Spaces and see here.

My Interests

Bass Guitars; Classic Motors; Italian Food; F'road; Sound Tech; Good Telly; Small ammounts of Sci Fi.

I'd like to meet:

There's a lot of people I'd like to meet, sadly many either refuse to see me or have expired. There's my all time favourite bass player, Jaco Pastorius, he went out in style, floored by a bouncer while coked up to he max.
Another unfortunate casualty of drug abuse, Jimi Hendrix, gotta have been the greatest guitarist of all time, and while we're there Kurdt Cobain. Doesn't paint a very good picture for the Rock 'n' Roll ideal but thems were some cule guys, my musical inspiration.
But anyhow, if you have an exceptional taste in music, you dig the Papier Tigiér joints, and you understand the fundamental elements of funkin' on down then count me in!
