The Prodigal Child Returns

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who is at least close to being in the same generation as myself. If you are old enough to have voted in the Reagan administration, the odds of us hooking up are probably about the same as Bush winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

Music:

I've got pretty ecclectic tastes when it comes to this sort of thing. Basically, if it has a melody or a really intoxicating rhythm that I can lose myself in, I will.* And for all you so called "purists" out there who think that Rap isn't music, let's just take a gander at the classic textbook definition:"Music: the organization of sound in time."(I knew that intro to music therapy class would pay off eventually)

Books:

Harry Potter 1-4 (5 and 6 kinda blew), anything written by Roald Dahl (that Brit is the Shit), Diane Mott Davidson (Gourmet recipes wrapped up in a juicy detective series- does it get any better than that?) Me Talk Pretty One Day, Calvin and Hobbes, The Chronicles of Narnia, anyone sensing a pattern here?

Heroes:

My family; Eleanore Roosevelt; all the brave "ordinary people" down in the Gulf Coast who are doing what our Federal Government wouldn't (including Dani, the champion of all EMTs);anyone who is crazy enough to be in the teaching profession; honest, hard working people who always strive to do the right thing, no matter what opposition they face.

My Blog

The Catholic Church and the Fate of New Orleans
