Gigi

Dj Gigi Born in Bydgoszcz, Poland. In early childhood he moved to Germany. It was there he discovered the techno music. At age 16 he moved back to Poland where he settled down for a couple of years in Warsaw. He began to attend the legendary parties at the Trend Club – there for the first time he heard and started to favor recordings of such producers like Jeff Mills, Adam Bayer or Cari Lekebush. In 1998 Gigi fascinated by electronic music decided to share it with others. To do this he started cooperation with local radio station "Rozglosnia Harcerska" (later "Radiostacja"). Gigi managed to convince then Program Director – Pawel Sito to place the "Strictly Underground" radio show into the "Radiostacja" timetable. This show was then the only source of independent electronic music available in Polish media. Its main idea was to promote non-commercial music, attainable then only to very few people connected with it. "Strictly Underground" obtained very quickly large number of listeners across the country. In 2000 a collective was established called "Minimalna Prawda". Members were Djs: Gigi, Krisb, Reck, Pete Bull and Pejot. That same year the name of the radio show also changed its name to "Minimalna Prawda". Gigi stared to invite to the show significant artists both from Polish as well as foreign electronic music scenes. Following artists played their sets at the show: Dj Pete aka Substance, Sender Berlin, Sutekh, Damon Wild, Highfish & Diringer, Jacek Sienkiewicz, Echoplex, Reck, Pete Bull and Mic Ostap. "Minimalna Prawda" found its place also at the Kotly Club (later B65), which became the Mecca of underground sounds in Warsaw.Gigi played at various parties at clubs like: Przestrze-- Graffenberga, Kot--y, Rocker, B65, CDQ, Piramida, Eskulap, Mo, Klinika, Supernova, Paragraf 51, h20, U-boot, W5, Tornado, Sfinks, Inqubator, Kazamaty, Planet, Akademia, Wagon, Iskra, Prozac and many others in Poland. He played also at festivals and exhibitions like: Lab01 (Daimler Chrysler for EXPO2000), Train II (Warsaw-Sopot-Warsaw), Atomic Beach, Berlina Days 2000 i 2002, WRO ...Currently his favorite record labels are : Kompakt, Ware, PokerFlat, Perlon, Klang Elektronik, Playhouse, Frisbeetracks, Turbo, Border Comunity, Cocoon, Gigolo, Recognition i Forte.
