"Experiments in Violent Light"/ FlyKKiller out now

About Me

The Flykkiller institute Poland, a former Soviet research laboratory from which the results of the Flykkiller project have just been released.Central to the plot in the FlyKKiller story; Stephen Hilton is the musical partner of David Holmes, co producer of The Free Association, and the beats behind many of the soundtracks of recent Hollywood hit movies. Pati Yang is one of Poland's most exciting electronic artists; a beguiling beauty whose siren-esque tones and joy of experimentation in music and the arts have earned her artistic acclaim as well as stadium tour support for Depeche Mode. The dreams and visions that Pati has experienced over the last year exactly coincide with times of inexplicable sightings of strange lights above the Warsaw green belt, which resulted firstly in quarantined areas of the forest and then heightened activity at the research Institute which had lain dormant since Soviet collapse. Pati's dreams of bio mechanical blue prints and astronomical co-ordinates have resulted in a major change in her disposition, she adopted a persona of 'The Fly', a sedate yet imposing beast, spindly limbs clad in sleek black fabric and a birds nest beehive of hair coiling into the heavens. Musically and visually, her subject matter is fear. How darkness and confusion around those things we can’t comprehend begin with fear but ultimately give way to light, clarity and depth of perception if we take time to study the detail.Stephen's pedigree in production holds no bounds. Cinematic effects drip from tracks written with the kind of playful confidence which comes from such a wealth of experience. To aptly recount the occurrences around the FlyKKiller institute he soundtracks a narrative line which starts here with our scene setter, the eponymous FlyKKiller, a simple introduction to set the mood to a story which is to become increasingly complex and illuminating.David Holmes graces the flip with his first dance floor remix in about a decade, stepping back in to the arena to get the facts straight and tell his side of the FlyKKiller story.

Influences: i grew up on the ashes of communism , as the iron curtain was falling down, we, the kids all just stood there trying to make sense out of it .Every day in the past two decades was abslolutely incredible.Nothing was certain. Everything had to be redefined - from law , censorship , access to information , music and films , to the basic human relations - it takes people time to learn not be sickly suspicious of one another, get rid of the paranoia. The old stilll hold the power , so much is changing and yet so little ,the kids either make films and art feeding on the leftovers of the pre 1989 time or they leave. It is still an alladin's cave. Polish Jazz , Kieslowski's early films , the 50'-70' propaganda's graphic design and the punk scene we had over there... The way i remember it is a little like Jeff Walls' images, The absurd of post communism was fabulous. But I left. Daydreaming, I' d go to that chemical , frozen place from my dreams , each journey further back in time , slowly patching together the history of that beautiful horrific place enlived by glass-eyed hunters of human pulse.I even made some friends there , they too were younger with each one of my visits so it was a hard friendship to keep... The last time was D-Day, when the catastrophy happend , 19:53NorthWest.Those dreams never came back. I still go to sleep hopefull sometimes. Second time round I left for good and came to UK. I go back to Warsaw sometimes and see how it slowly enlarges it's tiny collection of skyscrapers , in the same time the magic of past slowly decomposing into modern, cheap and temporary and that in some strange way creates even more food for underground art movements. I fell in love with London for all the sick reasons and I love being here. Most of all for music. And the ever awaken crowd i tend to hide myself within and float with in the rush hour. Just to hear millions of other people's thoughts at once , imagine we're all connected. This album is about silent treatment. The one they do to you , the one you do to yourself when you want to believe in bullshit only because it's easier this way. But mainly because music is like having bath , when you open your eyes underwater you can hear nothing but your own breathing.Reminds me that I am still alive.
