Meet Amanda, Detroit’s very own faux Paris, like Hilton she reminds us. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan on June 13th, 1986. Amanda quickly started her career in radio and television in the year 2004 attending Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts after high school. Focusing mainly on radio, Amanda went through and experienced hands on training that prepared her for what was to come. While attending Specs, Amanda landed an internship with formerly known radio station WDRQ-FM 93.1 with the Jay and Rachel in the Morning Show in Detroit. Due to a change in the station format, Amanda’s internship ended and it was time to look for another gig. With two months left until graduation at Specs, Amanda received a phone call from WKQI-FM Channel 95.5 in Detroit asking to come in for an interview. Making an impression, Channel 95.5’s Beau (Assistant Program Director, Music Director, and on-air personality) offered Amanda to be an intern for his show. Happy with the decision, Amanda quickly took on the role.
Graduating with a radio certificate from Specs, it was time to learn what it was really like to work in the radio biz. Thanks to Beau and Dom Theodore (Program Director for Channel 95.5) Amanda quickly took on the name Paris. Yes, Paris even resembles the pre-jail real thing. While interning, Beau taught Paris everything she needed to know from running a board, answering and editing phone calls, pretty much the whole nine. It was then Beau and Dom offered Paris a weekend gig, hosting a mix show live on air. Nervous, but excited, Paris took the gig only to better her craft. While working non-stop between the radio station and Hooters (Delightfully tacky, Yet Unrefined) whatever that means, Paris attended Macomb Community College eventually getting her Degree in Communication Arts Radio & TV Associate of Applied Science. Having the opportunity to work at Channel 95.5, Paris met and became close with many talented DJ’s including DJ Ryan Richards, DJ Shortstop, DJ Bizzy, DJ Who, DJ Joey A, DJ Godfather, DJ Paul Martindale, DJ Chi-Boogie (Chicago), DJ Melle Mel, and more. Having met such skilled people gave Paris a chance to network.
Gaining confidence, she was offered a gig to MC in Ferndale, MI known as Flirt Thursdays at Eden nightclub with DJ’s Godfather and Melle Mel. Paris (still working for Channel 95.5 and Hooters) took what she had experienced and took a trip out to Santa Monica, California. While enjoying some time away, Paris got hooked up with a chance to be an extra on the television show CSI:NY. Having landed a role on a television show gave Paris the boost to pursue not only radio but television as well.
Making it back to Detroit, Paris made sure to be at every club night Channel 95.5 had trying to make a name for herself. In doing so, while hanging out one Sunday at Tonic Night Club in Pontiac, Paris was given the chance to audition for a reality television show. Going through the process and talking back and forth on the phone for about a month, Paris was flown out to Sherman Oaks, California to film Flavor of Love Season 3 that will air on VH1 February 11th at 9pm.
In the mean time, Paris is doing whatever it takes to advance in her career, whether it is radio or television. Currently, she still works for Channel 95.5 and Hooters. For Bookings, PR and All Other Inquiries contact my management @
