glitter-graphics.comIn addition to those listed elsewhere on this page, also love traveling (whether just weekly Bay Area backroads hiking or longer driving trips), gardening.
No one in particular, as all people fascinate me and each one has a story if I just take the time to really listen.
Motown and The Girl-Group Sound are my two favorite genres and take precedence of all other music - as a result, I've created and moderate two Yahoo groups devoted exclusively to female singers of each genre. I pretty much like just about any type of music and always keep an open mind and enjoy constantly discovering new sounds and embrace much of it, with the exception of obnoxious and/or repetitive and violence-themed rap.
glitter-graphics.comCan't be too specific with this list either, as I enjoy a variety of films from here and abroad. Since subtitles don't bother me in the least, foreign language films are watched with the same frequency as English language films
Absolutely love the classic horror films of Hammer Studios, cult and indie films, and I'm always open to catching an old film from Hollywood's "Golden Age" (primarily from the mid '30s onward, though there are also quite a few silent classics in there). Favorite foreign directors include Pasolini, Fassbinder, Kurosawa, Bergman, Fellini, to name a few.
glitter-graphics.comMy TV viewing is being replaced more and more by PC interaction; I seem to have less time for it. When I do watch, I prefer documentaries to regular shows; travel shows are a great favorite, along with the Discovery Channel & A&E Biography; when it comes to comedy and drama, I prefer the Showtime and HBO series like Dexter, Weeds, Big Love (and earlier series like Rome, Six Feet Under, Oz and Deadwood).
glitter-graphics.comPrefer non-fiction over fiction as I find real life and people much more interesting than most fictional characters/events, though that isn't to say that I haven't enjoyed many of the classics by Hemingway, Faulkner, etc.
Don't seem to have time or patience anymore to really get involved in a long book, though I do read quite a few magazine or internet articles and sometimes will go for an audio book if there is a book that interests me, so I can listen to it as I do other things.
glitter-graphics.comAs a kid and all through High School, it was usually teachers who took the time to show me that they cared about what I thought, etc. Well-known influences, as a teen, included people like Albert Schweitzer and Helen Keller, who both inspired me. But as I've gotten older it's anyone who tries to make the world a better place, whether they are famous (like Mother Theresa) or so-called everyday people who work as volunteers, etc.
