Mutronium started out as a demo recording created by Joël Neumatic and Kurt Bordeaux, formerly of the London band Melt. Joël and Kurt relocated to New York City and recorded the Mutronium demo while producing recordings for the bands Hefner and Ambulance Ltd. The CD quickly found it's way onto WFMU radio, where it was selected the number 2 demo of 2005. "I was taken aback when they asked us to play live on the radio - there wasn't even a band yet," says singer/guitar player Joël. That soon changed with the additions of Patrick Azure on drums and Lara Scott-Rio on synthesizers. ------------------------------------------------------------

n 2006, Mutronium formed Nu-Artskool, which is a regular night of live music dedicated to adventurous, innovative and cutting edge rock bands. The focus is on quirky and eclectic rock bands playing around NYC, not so much a specific genre, than a like-minded arty spirit. ------------------------------------------------------------
