I love movies, in general. I just love going, and sitting in a dark theater, and eating lots of junk.... just the whole experience. I enjoy almost everything I see. Because by the time I've paid 10 bucks, I figure I might as well have a good time! My favorites recently have been Ratatouille, No Country For Old Men, Darjeeling Limited, 3:10 To Yuma, The Diving Bell and The Butterfly, Superbad, King of Kong, Blades of Glory, The Lives of Others, Once, The Year of the Dog, Breach, Casino Royale, Children of Men, The Prestige, Flushed Away, Wassup Rockers (OMG, best movie ever!), The Protector, and The Descent. But John Hughes movies are my all-time favorites!!
LOST, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. That's it, really... who has time for TV?
Recent faves: Savage Beauty, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, The Historian, The Stand (which scared me so bad that I fainted on the subway. True story.), Grrrl, Corrections, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, The Year of Magical Thinking, 33 1/3: Doolittle, The Time Traveller's Wife, Truth and Beauty, His Dark Materials trilogy. Long-time favorites: Jane Austen stuff (especially Pride and Prejudice), High Fidelity, Ghostworld, Harriet The Spy, Please Kill Me, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, Watership Down, and lots of stuff by John Irving (especially Garp, Hotel New Hampshire, and A Widow For One Year). And Jennifer Brandt’s book, Life is A Movie Starring You, which should be required reading for all girls! Other things I read a lot, which aren’t books, are Razorcake Zine and chocolate chip cookie recipes.
Ira Glass, Elvis Costello, Chrissie Hynde, my cat, and roller coaster designer Werner Stengel.
