Officials for the Miss United States Organization are proud to announce that Amaris Acosta of Bronx, NY has been named Miss New York United States and will represent her state at the 2007 Miss United States Pageant to be held August 2007 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Amaris, 27 years old and of Puerto Rican heritage, is currently pursuing a career as a television host. In addition, Amaris enjoys cooking, reading, the arts, and spending time with her family. Active in her community, Amaris continues to donate her time and efforts to charities such as the American Diabetes Association and the West Harlem Art Project.
During her reign, Miss New York United States 2007 will not only compete for the national title and a chance of a lifetime, but she will also be available to make appearances, attend special presentations and assist with civic and non-profit oriented projects. Amaris plans to travel the state speaking on issues dear to her heart, vigorously promote her state and national sponsors and encourage pageant participation.
