About Me

Brian Petrivelli was born in Augusta,GA. The family moved to Vicksburg,MS when he was only 3 days old. There he grew up with long time friend Cory Barnes. Brian has always had a thing for music, "When we'd go to Downtown Disney my favorite thing to go see was the Hard Rock Cafe", says Brian. When Brian was about 9 years old (1998), he and his family moved to Peachtree City,Ga. There he he got into music more but never could find his niche. Brian says, "I was in the 5th grade band at Oak Grove and played the bells, then the clarinet." It wasn't until about late 6th grade when Brian's friend Matt Lyons introduced him to the guitar. Brian took the money that he got from his Uncle, Sam, to buy his first guitar. It was a Rose, Stratocaster look-a-like. Matt got his brother Adam to teach Brian how to play. "I took lessons from Adam for a good amount of months, then he got real busy because he just graduated and was going to college that year." Brian says. After that Brian stopped taking lessons for a few months, and then started up at Music & Arts Centers in Peachtree City,Ga, where he took two lessons with one teacher, then another teacher, Dave Scott, came in and replaced him. Dave taught Brian everything Brian knows today, and taught to never give up. "I would not be anywhere near where I am today If not for Dave Scott." Brian took lessons from Dave for about 3 years. After that Brian stopped taking lessons and went to further his career. "I was in numorous bands. There was Sixth Lad, which used to be called Genesis Undone, which I now know why my parents hated that name. I was in that band for about 6 or 7 months. Then I was in Full Flight, which was really hard because I was the only one that really wanted to get somewhere, music-wise, and everyone else just wanted to goof-off and not be serious. They actually kicked me out of that band which I kinda think is funny looking at where I am now. Lets see, then I was in a band with my friend and ex-girlfriend Britt Lapalm, called Rise of Bunky. I was in that one for about 3 to 4 months. Then I was in a band with my neighbor Phil,my friend ex-girlfriend, Meghan Keough, and James Hunter. I was in that for about 3 months. Then after that I finally met the guys I had been praying for, long time friend Trey Trantham, Michael Chambers, and Steven Snider. We started a band called Soul Sister, and actually when we started, we started it with a good friend of ours on bass Steven Croteau. Then Steve Snider replaced him because we felt Steven Croteau didn't really have the drive." Brian Currently plays with Soul Sister, plays acoustic/rock as a solo artists for fun. you can contact Brian at [email protected].
