I've been playing piano since I could reach the keys and messing with synthesizers since 1978.
Last year I travelled from San Francisco to Sweden to record an album with Christoffer Lundquist, where we transformed my entirely digitally-demoed instrumentals into a living, breathing album, just released in June 2006.

The music spans a wide stylistic range, from classically-influenced piano and string quartet to electronic space/ambient, to something resembling electronic dance music—except with John Bonham-like real drums instead of a drum machine. The journey is anchored by Christoffer's brilliant production and a consistent sense of flow and evolution.
Over the years I've had the privilege of playing with many great musicians, including:
-
Moog cohort David Borden / Mother Mallard, including getting to play the opening of "Fanfare for the Common Man" with Keith Emerson at the Smithsonian
Robby Aceto and Red Letter
Peter Chwazik, former bassist in Trey Anastasio's (Phish) band
Ron Riddle (Happy the Man drummer) and The Burns Sisters' 1986 Columbia release
When I was 19 I saw a TV interview with Todd Rundgren. He was asked to give advice to aspiring young musicians and replied "become computer programmers." I took that to heart and it led to a long career writing music software at Opcode Systems. There I contributed to many of the products the company released over a 12-year span, though I'm perhaps best-known for having designed and programmed the Open Music System (OMS), which touched just about everyone who's ever made music on a Macintosh computer.
