From up and down the Southern California coast to as far as the glistening beaches of Vina Del Mar, Chile- it’s been quite an unusual and unpredictable path for singer/songwriter Geoffrey Clay. Originally from the Los Angeles area, he first began his musical yearnings after high school- following his exposure to The Beatle’s ‘Sgt. Pepper’ album. Some buddies were already dabbling in guitar and songwriting and Geoff quickly followed.Geoff nearly lost touch with his musical dreams during his college years. However after graduation from UC Santa Barbara in 2001, he moved back to Los Angeles to be closer to the music industry. It wasn’t until landing an internship at a major record label that put Geoff back on the road to songwriting and performance. Sitting a desk watching greats like Tom Petty, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Macy Gray walk by and say ‘hello’ was uncompromisingly motivating. Dutifully inspired but what he would see on a daily basis, Geoff started writing songs again. This ultimately led to the formation of Los Angeles of different Clay fronted projects like “The Believersâ€.Clay decided to pursue his musical visions as a solo artist in 2005. Later that year he would move to Chile for several months for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gig on the beach nightly.Returning on a high-note from South America his hunger for fame was stronger than ever. Clay soon met veteran music-producer Lou Natkin who has previously worked with Brian Wilson, Joan Jett and more. The two met while living in the same apartment complex in Los Angeles. They became friends and started writing songs together including “Jennifer,†which Natkin produced.Geoffrey has seen the industry through many unique perspectives and is confident that his musical pursuits will lead him on an incredible journey. He hopes that based on what you hear that you agree!
