Junglist for Life

About Me

My name is JoEl. Drum N' Bass has been the foremost musical experience in my life since I first heard it in 1996. Since then, I have developed what some would call an "acquired" taste for this form of music. As Drum N' Bass has evolved, so have I, and while some would say this music is dead, I consider it to be alive and well, and am part of the collective who believe in and contribute to the progression of its sound............................................... ............................................................ .......................................................I started producing this Jungle/D&B genre in Spring of 2000, after I got my hands on some production software. Since that time, I have been self-taught, and honed formidable skills as a US Junglist.................................... ............................................................ .......................................................I also started DJing D&B in 2003, and as is true with most DJs/producers, I am better at one than the other (in my case, production over DJing, although personally DJing is more therapeutic)................................................ ........ ............................................................ .................................................Since that time, I have worked on many projects in several genres, including Experimental/Abstract Hip-Hop, Breaks, Industrial, Rock Fusion, and Soul. I worked closely with many artists, well known and not so well known, have worked in the industry myself, as a DJ, promoter, and retailer, and have even scored a short film........................................................ ................... ............................................................ .......................................................I just finished producing an album for Annuit Coeptis (a spiritual group in Hollywood). It is the first CD I've ever done like this and is VERY different from the music you'll hear on this page. It took the zenith of my skills, alot of esoteric study, and some divine providence to work on it. Junglist 2002

This is actually a letter that was on my music website in 2002.  I typed it in between classes, in Dirac Library on FSU campus the summer of that year.  Even though it is nearly 4 years old,...
