I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am a single parent.I worked in the parts department of an automotive dealership. I have worked at the same job for the past eleven years. Due to ecconomic circumstances at the dealership, I am looking for a new line of employment. My job included greeting customers, looking up parts, ordering parts, and taking money. Good phone skills and interpersonal skills are essencial. Windows based Operating Systems, were used to look up parts, input customer orders, receive orders into inventory, and make inventory adjustments. I have a BA in English with a Communications Emphasis from Waynesburg College, which has just become, Waynesburg University. What is a "Communications Emphasis?" I graduated in 1983, prior to Waynesburg having a Communications Program. Scriptwriting, Media Presentation, Audio Production and Television classes were all offered under this Major. Additionally, I took courses in Advertising, Marketing, Photography, and Accounting.I also was fortunate to have done an internship in the news department at WANB radio.

My Interests

My daughter, gardening, photography, reading - when I can, Science Fiction, an occasional get away, and listening to music.Photos by Amy

I'd like to meet:

Friends, people to inspire and push me to be a better person. I would like to talk to people who are creative, smart, witty, and who think somewhat outside the box.

"

Music:

I like most kinds of music. Music is a way to connect with other people. A selection of favorites would include: Barry Manilow, Karen Carpenter, Barbra Streisand, The Monkees, the Beatles, the Bee Gees, anything sixties Motown, the Big Bands, and Swing.I also like Broadway Sound tracks, my special favorite is "Phantom of the Opera.""Music and Passion" in Las Vegas, 8-07-07

Movies:

If it is more than PG 13, I have not seen it. There is enough violence in the world without seeing graphic violence on film and on TV. I am into Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan movies, Mel Brooks, Gene Wilder, Nathan Lane, movie musicals, Star Wars, and Star Trek.

Television:

Any Star Trek series, because it shows a future where we learn to care about others. The original Battlestar Galactica, because of the spirituality of the show. Dancing with the Stars, is just fun to watch. Jeopardy, we all need to use our head at least one a day.

Books:

Current favorite, Prisoner of Trebekistan, by Bob Harris. It is funny and insightful. The classic Fahrenheit 451,by Ray Bradbury. Be glad we have the freedom to read and think for ourselves. The Four Agreements, by Don Miguel Ruiz. This book helps to put life in perspective. The Story of My Life, by Helen Keller. A remarkable book, by a remarkable human being.

Heroes:

Isn't that the name of a TV show? Here are some real heroes: my daughter, who is the wind beneath my wings. Helen Keller, who over came adversity to inspire the world. Cory Ten Boom, please watch for open windows. .. Click here to get more mini-SharkBreak widgets - www.SharkBreak.com
