Howl Street Recordings is a 1200 sq ft recording studio located in Bay View (across the hall from Trevor Sadler's MasterMind mastering studio, actually!!) HSR used to be Bionic Studios. Christian and Malcolm who designed and built the space have since moved on and I was fortunate enough to keep it running as of Sept 07'. More about the studio - It has a climate controlled live room (about 700 sq ft) with a natural wood floor and a 12 ft ceiling offers big and natural drum sounds with lots of space for the players. The control room (about 350 sq ft) is a 100% "floating room" design with its own separate a/c unit dedicated to keeping the players and studio gear nice and cool. -------- Gear: Can work in 24 track digital (Nuendo/ Cubase) and/or 16 track analog (Otari MX70 1" 16 track tape machine). I wanted to open up a studio in Milwaukee geared towards diy bands that would be affordable as well as give the bands a recording they could be proud of. I started recording bands about 4 yrs ago in my old house but knew long before then that this was something I needed to pursue 100%. And I feel lucky as all hell that it’s gotten me this far!! Music in general has pretty much consumed my life as far back as i can remember. I started playing drums at age 6 - guitar at age 12 – been in bands since I was 15 and diy touring since I was 18. I currently play drums in the band Call Me Lightning as well. A list of my old bands includes: Haymarket Riot - Hero Of A Hundred Fights - Mazes and Monsters - Tintoretto - Managra.
