I am something of an antiquarian. I'm passionate about egyptology, the ancient near-east, classic cinema, languages, criminology, Alphonse Mucha, Anne-Louis GirodÃ©t de Roussy-TriosÃ³n and Percy Bysshe Shelley. I study Linguistics and German at UCL, so on any given evening you can find me there, in the library, staring morosely at hefty volumes of linguistic theory.

My primary love, however, is music, and I probably have the most eclectic taste out of anybody I know â€“ from folk, 60's psych, classic rock, metal and opera. I have fronted a number of bands in London, to varying degrees of success, and have extensive songwriting, recording and gigging experience. I have also been known to DJ.

I have reclusive tendencies, nothing too pathological, but I do tend to recoil every now and again, so don't take it personally. I have strongly convicted political views based on years of study, reflection, and experience. Whilst I am a socialist, humanitarian, and great advocate of peace and solidarity, I have little patience for misinformed, misguided, pacifist left-wing dogma.

I enjoy a plethora of literary genres, but my favourite are of the thriller/horror variety, particularly James Herbert, Tom Holland, Kelly Armstrong, Patricia Cornwell and Phil Rickman (aka Will Kingdom). Other than that I read a lot of non-fiction, especially criminology and history.
